Erika is a dear friend of mine. Yesterday she gave me these gorgeous fresh walnuts coming from Cereseto, a small town not too far away from Turin where she has a wonderful house with a garden and a small orchard tucked away among the hills. She and Filippo cropped them. They're beautiful. Each different from the other, protected by their cupule.
To use them (I'm thinking about some kind of raw sweet) I'll first have to let them rinse under the sun... it will take a while but I'm so happy when I manage to use fresh products harvested not too far away from where I live. I try and do it everytime I can and you sure can tell the difference when you taste it.

Erika è una cara amica e ieri mi ha regalato queste splendide noci che provengono da Cereseto, un piccolo paesino non troppo lontano da Torino, dove ha una bellissima casetta immersa nel verde con un orto e frutteti tutto intorno.
Queste noci le ha raccolte lei insieme a Filippo, sono bellissime, sono una diversa dall'altra e sono ancora avvolte dal mallo che le protegge.
Per poterle utilizzare (ho in mente un bel dolcetto crudista) dovrò prima togliere il mallo e poi lasciarle asciugare ancora un po' al sole... ci andrà un po' di tempo, ma sono contentissimo quando riesco ad utilizzare prodotti naturali, freschi e raccolti non troppo lontano da dove vivo. Cerco di farlo ogni volta che posso e la differenza di risultato si vede e si sente.
